Israel’s airstrikes on hospitals have become nearly a recurring theme in its six-week war on Gaza, despite the fact that schools, churches, and refugee camps have also been targeted. Of the 35 hospitals in Gaza, at least 21 are fully closed, including the only cancer center in the area. Other hospitals have suffered damage and are running low on necessary supplies and medications.
31 premature babies were taken from al-Shifa Hospital to Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip on Sunday. They had been fed formula tainted with tainted water for weeks, and their incubators had stopped working due to a fuel shortage brought on by Israel’s nearly total siege of the enclave since the Hamas attack on October 7. Eight babies have already passed away.
